Commercial Section

The U.S. Department of State represents the U.S. Department of Commerce Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) link in Libya.  The Political and Economic Section of the United States Embassy supports U.S. commercial interests in Libya and helps U.S. businesses in their export marketing efforts.

The U.S. Embassy in Tripoli produces a comprehensive Country Commercial Guide to Libya (PDF - 1.2MB) and a range of shorter publications to assist U.S. firms in efforts to identify trade and investment opportunities.  It also provides Libyan companies with information on U.S. suppliers of goods and equipment.  The Embassy engages in business advocacy activities to support U.S. companies bidding on local tenders.  The USFCS plans to host trade missions and trade promotion events to facilitate entry of U.S. products and services to the local market during the third and fourth quarter of 2006.  Please view the Export.gov website for more export promotion information.

For Libya specific information, please review the Country Commercial Guide to Libya.  If additional assistance is required, contact the Embassy directly at 218-21-335-1846, or send an email to tripoliecon@state.gov.
