POSITION: Electrician, FSN-4

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
The United States Embassy in Tripoli is seeking an individual for the full time (40 hours/week) position of Electrician.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
Maintenance structures and equipment of office buildings, residences, and other government –owned or-leased properties, primary through electrical work
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Completion of vocational school is required.
- One year of journeyman experience as an electrician, plus some semi-skilled experience in other trade areas, is required.
- Level II (Limited Knowledge) spoken English, Level I (Rudimentary Knowledge) written English. Level III (Good working Knowledge) written and spoken Arabic is required.
- Must have full journeyman electrician’s knowledge of established trade practices and procedures in the primary trade.
- Must know how to operate various skilled tools.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (EFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Current employees are not eligible to apply for advertised positions within the first six months of their employment.
